Designing the purchase path for a phone, a weak connection, and limited patience.

"Mobile-first" in ecommerce often just means the layout reflows.
It should mean the purchase path was built for someone on a phone, on a weak connection, with one hand and little patience.
Many stores still treat mobile as a smaller desktop. Desktop gets the full QA pass. Mobile gets "looks fine in the simulator"—until users hit a heavy PDP, a bar covering add-to-cart, or checkout steps that hurt on a small screen.
Mobile is often most of the traffic. It's also often where conversion leaks hardest.
Mobile-first isn't a breakpoint. It's treating PDP, cart, and checkout as the product—and optimizing those before you polish hero sections most phone users never see.
If analytics say mobile matters but the roadmap doesn't, that's the gap.
