Connecting performance work to the pages where customers make decisions.
The post
Storefront performance and conversion are related—they're not the same problem.
Better Lighthouse scores won't save you if the PDP doesn't answer basic buyer questions. A slow store might still convert if trust is extreme—but on mobile, that's the exception.
Performance work pays off when it removes friction: faster PDPs, smoother cart, checkout that doesn't stall on a phone. It fails when it's a scorecard disconnected from where people decide.
The useful question isn't "what's our performance score?" It's "where does speed—or the lack of it—change whether someone stays, believes, and buys?"
Measure and improve on the paths that carry revenue. Tie work to confidence and conversion, not just a report.
That's when performance becomes a business lever—not a side project.
